How did I become so involved in fitness and passionate about helping others? This question comes up every time I look back in my own life. I thought for sure I was going to become an engineer but I chose to become a fitness professional.

Fitness has changed my life for the better because as a young teen I was heading for the wrong direction.  One day I decided to pick up a pair of dumbbells and I was hooked.  For once in my life I realized that the only thing I can control is my mind.  I made up my mind and DECIDED to get in shape and that is exactly what I did.  As I was going through the process of getting in shape, I learned many life lessions along the way.  I believe our mind is responsible for 80-90% of our success and the rest is mechanical and that’s how my fitness philosophy is formed.

I have been a Personal Fitness Trainer for more than 20 years and still love what I do…helping people.  I always look forward to seeing all of my clients (friends) and to help them take a step closer to their fitness goals whether it is to lose a few pounds or training for an ironman (or simply just put a smile on their face).  My background includes nutrition, strength training, flexibility, and sport specific training.  I have competed in several natural bodybuilding contests in my early years of training and I have learned a lot about nutrition and strength training by putting my body through it.  When I turned 30, I decided  to stay in the gym a little less and keep active by exploring more outdoor   activities.  I have experienced almost every outdoor activity, but what I  really enjoy the most are tennis, paddle tennis, racquetball, mountain biking, running, and soccer.

Now I am in my 40’s and I can still compete and
play hard but I notice that I do not recover as
quickly.  I started to get aches and pains and
some nagging injuries so I shifted my focus to
training  and nutrition to prevent injuries
(corrective exercise, functional training and
sports specific training…etc) to make sure I can
play just as hard and keep my healthy fitness
life style until I am at least 100 years old.  My
nutrition approach now includes more of a natural
organic and a holistic way of eating which I believe
contributes to my “pain free” body and of                                                                   course  proper training.

I consider myself an experienced professional fitness trainer but I also am an experienced rookie.  I believe the rookie in me will never stop learning so I can pass on my knowledge to others.  My expertise does not just come from a book. “I learn it, live it and share it everyday”.
